The Staff Annual week begins at Sohar University with honoring a number of the employees

The Staff Annual Week begins at Sohar University on Monday, September 10 and continues until Thursday 13, 2018. The Week is organized annually at the beginning of each academic year. It includes a number of important activities and it is considered one of the main events of the University, as it provides training workshops, lectures and seminars for all administrative and academic staff.
At the opening of the week, Prof Barry Winn, the University VC, delivered a speech in which he welcomed all employees and congratulated them on the launch of the new academic year. He also mentioned the Development Programs that will be held during the week for employees as well as the continuation of the plan of development programs for employees throughout the academic year. In his speech, the VC referred to the most important developments in the campus of the expansion and construction of the mosque on the campus. He called on the staff to work together to face the various challenges faced by the university and stressed the importance of continuing and promoting the development process.
As part of its interest in its staff and in recognition of their efforts to serve Sohar University, the University honored a number of its staff who received the VC's Award for outstanding achievement for the year 2017/2018. The winners were Dr. Rakesh Belwal, faculty of Business, Khalid Mohammed Al Shehi, Estates Department, Ms. Zalikha Al-shizawi Faculty of Arts and Education and Ms. Laila Abdullah Al. Muqbali, Information Technology Services Department.
The first day program also included an explanation of the University Strategic Plan 2018-2023, presented by Ms. Gweneth Gorman, Director of Institutional Planning & Effectiveness at the University.
