Academic Support Services

Academic Support Services at Sohar University is constantly evolving and improving its services provided to students. Since the start of the current academic year 2023/2024, the unit has improved the services at the Writing Center and the Tutorial Center, as well as providing the necessary equipment and resources to assist students in their studies.

It also assigned and trainned 61 peer tutors to work in the centers, where they assist their fellows. In addition, Academic Support Services conducted over 556 individual and group tutorial sessions and consultations to explain different courses and subjects from different faculties.

The number of students who used the center’s services reached 1,385 male and female students, for a total of 3,192 students who visited the center many times. The number of workshops and training sessions reached 50, with 578 student attendees.

Academic Support Services contributes to the development and refinement of university students’ skills in a variety of ways, fostering a spirit of cooperation, ultimately influencing the broader community positively.

Dr. Muna Al-Badaai, the Coordinator of Academic Support Services, organized Honoring Peer Tutoring Event on December 7, 2023 to thank the peer tutors for their great efforts during the Semester 1 2023/2024.
