Dr Rakesh is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business of Sohar University for the past eight years. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia. Dr Rakesh possesses a mix of academic, professional, and administrative experience in teaching and business. He has a rich experience of tertiary-level teaching at different institutions in India and abroad. Further to teaching, he has imparted training programs to government, public, and private sector officials in India and Ethiopia. HE was a visiting Professor to the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee India. In Ethiopia, he contributed to the MBA program of Addis Ababa University and received the ‘Excellent Professor for the year - 2007’ award. Dr. Rakesh has a strong track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and has participated in several international conferences. He is also contributing to the academic panels of universities as well as the editorial committees of academic journals. He is the editor of the Journal of Innovative Education Strategies (ISSN: 1555-5429). As Principal Investigator, Dr Rakesh has won two prestigious research grants of The Research Council of Oman. He is a member of the 'Academic Network' of UITP. His research on Public transport in Oman has won UITP-MENA’s award for ‘Knowledge and Research’. He is the founder of Youth for Public Transport group (Y4PT) in Oman. Dr. Rakesh was the founder coordinator of the Sohar University’s MBA program. He was the recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s award (2013) for Research & Industrial Collaboration in Sohar University.
