The Faculty of Business is moving into a new phase of development. In terms of increasing student numbers, existing and potential undergraduate and postgraduate programme developments, the requirement to improve progression rates and an increased emphasis on meaningful research a number of elements need to be addressed.
It has a mix of well-qualified staff, and a good reputation for teaching and community engagement. The Faculty, however, needs to recruit more subject specialist staff with the ability to meet the requirements of undergraduate and particularly post-graduate students within the established active learning policy framework. Some of these will also be experienced program managers with the ability to develop innovative schemes to meet market/ student expectations and demands.

New programmes have been added to open more opportunities. These programmes have been designed in the light of intensive study of the job market in Oman. Consequently, they provide graduates with a wider choice and opens new vocational horizons and job satisfaction in future. These new programmes include specilisations that are needed in the region due to the variety of new developmental commercial and industrial projects.
So, the faculty is introducing two new courses: Management Information Systems and Business and Mercantile Law, which are intended to enhance Omani students’ competitiveness in many job markets in the oil and gas industry, banking, tourism, economic and administrative consultancies and many other areas.
The Faculty of Business provides integrative and practice-oriented business education. It also conducts innovative and internationally recognized research, engage actively with business and the community and prepare its students to meet future challenges. It delivers high quality business education in a broad range of degree programs at undergraduate levels.
