Sohar University organizes an orientation day for the new students

On Sunday, October 1st 2017, Sohar University held an orientation day for the new students who have been admitted to the various programs and degrees offered by the six faculties of the university for the academic year 2017/2018. The orientation program was held in the Great Hall of the Learning Resources Center in order to introduce the students to the University, its various facilities and the services it provides. This is in addition to the administrative and academic systems of the University that can be interest to the students during their course of study.

The orientation program started with a video presenting a background about the university and its annexes, services and more. This was followed by a welcome speech by the VC of the University: Professor Barry Winn, and then a speech by the deputy VC for the Academic Affairs: Professor Hamza Idris. In addition, an overview of the missions and their systems was presented by the Head of the Internal Missions at the Ministry of Higher Education - Mr. Khalil Al-Farsi.

It is worth mentioning that the total number of university students has reached more than 7000 students in the different degrees: Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BA and MA.
